AirCoaster Blog Status

The blog had two days this week with 100+ views. Thanks zmarffy!
Obviously we are sort of down right now but with the addition of UAC to the blog, we will surely get a resurgence of users!

Please blog daily!

What’s up? It’s zmarffy.

Zeke here. I’ve been invited to write in this blog! I’ll try to keep it up to date with the latest happenings of AirCoaster. I might do some coaster reviews from popular users as well as some newbies I think deserve a chance to become popular. I can’t do as many Shnap updates, as I am not on the app very often, but I’ll try my best!

If you don’t know much about me, my name’s Zeke Marffy. I live in New York, NY in the United States. I enjoy all technology, especially iOS jailbreaking. I am pretty well known around the AirCoaster community, and I have been playing for about 2 1/2 years. I have had two accounts so far. I have my own AirCoaster blog dedicated specifically to hacking the app. I also have a few packages on the insanelyi repo (add http://repo.insanelyi.com/ as a source in Cydia). In my free time, I enjoy iOS gaming, riding my bike, and experimenting with iOS and computers.

Feel free to talk to me, whether on AirCoaster or Twitter. I’m almost always available, and I’m very friendly most of the time.

Well, my first official post will come tomorrow. It’ll be a few coaster reviews.

My view of Technicals

I feel much the same way as Fahrenheit does regarding technicals. They have no purpose in the real world, and it’s somewhat like building a full-size house out of LEGO: nifty concept, but why? It is true. The roller coaster is dying. Most of you are not helping the situation. HOWEVER, unlike Fahrenheit, I will tolerate technicals. (Here’s a challenge for those inclined: build a track tunnel in RCT3. It is possible if you use the Extended Coaster.) I don’t particularly care for technicals myself, but I’m not going to go around hating on them. I can appreciate the effort it takes to build a technical, having tried one myself and given up. My forte is realistics; I intend to keep building realistics until Ziconic yanks the rug out from under me. Z, I like your app, but is it too much to ask to lower the upload limit to 30 minutes? That would be helpful. To those who argue that only technicals require skill, I say, “So?” Technicals Are Not For Everyone. I like realistics. I will continue to rate your tracks five stars, because that is the polite thing to do. I don’t particularly want to suffer the combined wrath of AC, so I’ll take the high road. Just remember Imagineer’s track, and don’t hate on realistics. Thank you.

Battlefire and Stuff

So, Battlefire is in the hands of i100. He’s finishing the trees. Anyway, what do you think of my current thumbnail?

You have all heard of the large number of people that quit after the 4/20 update. Something like sixty-something now? (correct me if I’m wrong in the comments). But why is everyone quitting. Sure, I know, people are mad because they can’t use the updates page all they want anymore. I was mad too. I started a petition that got 24 signatures and wrote four emails. But is that the only reason we are on AC? I don’t know about you, but I got this app to make coasters, and updates or no updates, I can still make them. Sure, you may not be able to chat as easily, but walls do exist people! And besides, it’s not like you’re missing out on much. Since the update, the updates page has been slow moving and kinda, almost boring at some points. Also, the update was actually good for me in a way and I know quite a few people benefited from it too. It was that I got a coaster onto the MPL. If it weren’t for the update, I would have never gone crazy with the wall spam and Gwazi would still have ten downloads and no ratings and be nowhere near the MPL. Did anyone else get a track on the MPL because of the update? Answer in the comments. So anyway, long story short, this app is about coasters, not updates. That should be our focus.

Best Track Series Ever?

There have been many track series during the course of Sky and AirCoaster. A select few of those have constantly attracted downloaders, and even few deserved those followers. In my view, I believe the top two are the Dementia series by MT, and the Pandora series by Music Guy. In my view though, I believe Music Guy’s Pandora series is the best because it has had more downloads, and more sequels. Any comments? Post below.
